ANNUAL ASQ LI Hall of Fame Watch
on Channel 55 ASQ LI established the “Quality Hall of Fame” in 2009 while celebrating its 50th anniversary. This is an honor granted to companies and their individuals who have significantly contributed to the success of Long Island through corporate, personal, educational and community involvement. A “Quality Hall of Fame” committee has been established to nominate and select candidates to be approved and inducted into the Hall of Fame in two main categories: one for individuals and one for corporations. Companies or individuals must have a specific and direct tie to Long Island, NY. The companies or individuals nominated must have made a significant contribution to the field or promotion of quality concepts and principles. The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at the Lupton Hall, Farmingdale State College. Invited guests from ASQ and Farmingdale College will be present. We hope that this “Quality Hall of Fame” will be an example and an inspiration for those who have chosen to make the study of Quality a way of life. Rick

Anniversary Gala Chair's Message Wow! What a night! On Thursday, September 17th, 2009 the Long Island ASQ held its 50th anniversary celebration at the Milleridge Inn located in Jericho, NY. We could not have asked for a better night, weather wise, it was a beautiful, crisp early autumn night. The Milleridge Inn was a wonderful back drop for our gala event. It was very nicely decorated for the fall. The restaurant itself has a history dating back to 1672 which added to the charm of the location. Many people came out to support us, which was very wonderful and exciting. We had many excellent speakers and extra activities like a raffle and silent auction that raised money for our scholarship fund. The food was good and the night was filled with people catching up or meeting for the first time, all because of our group's desire to bring Quality to Long Island during the past fifty years. I would like to take this opportunity to hand out some special thanks:
Thank you all who attended. I hope that in fifty years there will be people remembering and recognizing our wonderful events and accomplishments at their dinner. Rick Calabrese
