ASQLI-Hofstra Symposium

Data Analytics in Healthcare
Thursday 11/5/2015
9:30 AM to 2:30 PM
Hofstra University
Library East Wing–Room 246

We are collecting more data on patients today than ever before from new devices, sensors and mobile applications. Electronic (email) communication between patient and physician is increasing. As patient data continues to grow, healthcare providers are using data mining technologies to extract meaningful information from these disparate data sources in order to :

  • Provide personalized care to the patient.
  • Address a new challenge of population health, which aims to proactively intervene and improve the health of an entire community by detecting patterns and promoting wellness programs.
  • Reduce the cost of delivering quality care, which will potentially benefit all the parties in a healthcare system i.e., provider, payer, patient, and management.

Data and quality professionals will play a more direct role in healthcare as the need for combining and analyzing data from these disparate data sources becomes more important for purposes of research, diagnosis and ultimately providing quality healthcare to patients.

This is a great opportunity for our section members who are Quality Professionals to learn about how Big Data is becoming a critical part of healthcare. Speaker bios will be posted on the website soon.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided. This is a free event. Section members will receive 1.0 RU (Symposium: 4+ to 8 hrs).

Space is limited, so register online.
